Your Mission
As an Associate Anti-Financial Crime Compliance – Business Advisory at Bitpanda, you will support the development and continuous improvement of structural features within the AFC Compliance program. You will help identify gaps, test existing and newly developed controls, report risk indicators and support initiatives that strengthen the effectiveness and efficiency of the compliance framework. Working closely with Risk, Product, Operations and Technology teams, you will contribute to building scalable, risk-based AFC solutions in line with regulatory expectations across multiple jurisdictions..
What you’ll do:
Execute periodic controls and assist with the testing and validation of AFC-related features and developments, including documenting outcomes, identifying issues, and supporting implementation cycles in collaboration with relevant teams.
Support the identification, assessment, and mapping of gaps within AFC compliance processes, systems, and controls by analysing workflows, regulatory requirements, and internal standards.
Raise, track, and follow up on remediation actions, helping ensure findings are addressed in a timely manner and appropriately documented.
Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders (including Product, Engineering and Operations) to support requirement definition, testing activities, and the maintenance of AFC program documentation
Assist in monitoring regulatory developments and contribute to the implementation of AFC compliance enhancements where required.
Who you are:
Educational Background: You hold a university degree in Law, Business, Economics, Finance, or a related field, providing a solid foundation in regulatory compliance, risk management, financial crime prevention, or data analytics.
You possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret structured data and translate insights into risk-based recommendations and compliance improvements. Experience with data extraction and analysis using SQL or other programming languages is a strong advantage, enabling you to identify risk indicators and contribute to operational and control enhancements.
Language Proficiency: You have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Professional proficiency in German is considered a strong asset.
Interest in Financial Crime Prevention: You are passionate about understanding how financial institutions prevent and detect financial crime. Previous experience in Compliance, Anti-Financial Crime (AFC), AML, KYC, Sanctions Screening, or related roles within financial institutions, fintechs, or cryptocurrency exchanges is highly desirable.
