As a Legal Counsel at Chainlink Labs, you will play a vital role in navigating the complex legal landscape of blockchain technology and decentralized finance (DeFi). Your expertise will help guide the company through regulatory challenges while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and best practices. This remote position requires a deep understanding of the evolving legal framework surrounding cryptocurrencies and blockchain applications. What you'll do • Provide legal guidance on various blockchain-related projects and initiatives, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations. • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts related to partnerships, technology licensing, and other business arrangements. • Monitor and analyze regulatory developments in the blockchain and DeFi space, advising stakeholders on potential impacts. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product development and engineering, to address legal concerns early in project lifecycles. • Assist in developing and implementing internal policies and procedures to mitigate legal risks. • Support the company's efforts in corporate governance, intellectual property matters, and dispute resolution. What we're looking for • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and admission to practice in New York. • Proven experience in legal practice, ideally with a focus on blockchain technology or financial services. • Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks affecting cryptocurrencies, DeFi, and related technologies. • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly. • Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a proactive approach to problem-solving. • Passion for blockchain technology and commitment to supporting the growth of the web3 ecosystem.
