About Temporal
Temporal builds low-latency infrastructure at the core of Solana. We operate across transaction landing, validator infrastructure, and proprietary trading systems. Our flagship product is Nozomi, for transaction landing. Every one of those systems produces data: transaction outcomes, block contents, delivery records, tip flows, validator behavior, market microstructure. This role owns that data end to end.
The role
We are hiring a data engineer to own our data infrastructure.
You will maintain and extend our production pipelines as the business evolves, and you will be the go-to person for analytical work on top of that data: transaction landing performance, block value, customer behavior, and on-chain market structure.
This is not a dashboards-and-tickets role. The pipelines ingest high-volume Solana data in real time, the schemas reflect deep protocol details, and the consumers of your work are traders, protocol engineers, and customers who notice when numbers are wrong.
What you will do
• Own production data pipelines end to end: ingestion, transformation, modeling, orchestration, and reliability.
• Work in Rust on ingestion and processing services, and in SQL on ClickHouse and PostgreSQL for modeling and analysis.
• Decode and model Solana data at the protocol level: accounts, transactions, instructions, program execution, and block structure.
• Build datasets that answer real questions: landing rates, tip economics, validator performance, DeFi flow across (p)AMMs, CLOBs, and aggregators.
• Provide analytical support across the company, from trading desk questions to customer-facing reporting.
• Reconcile on-chain data against internal records for billing, rebates, and P&L reporting.
What we are looking for
• Proficiency in Rust, or strong systems-language experience with willingness to work in Rust daily.
• Strong data engineering fundamentals: pipeline design, ETL/ELT, data modeling, and orchestration.
• Production experience with ClickHouse (we run self-hosted at high query volume), PostgreSQL, and message queues (NATS or similar).
• Deep familiarity with Solana, or the demonstrated ability to build genuine protocol fluency fast: the account model, transaction structure, and execution model.
• Care for correctness: you notice when numbers do not reconcile and you chase down why.
• Ability to work autonomously on underspecified problems.
Especially relevant: data infrastructure at a trading firm, exchange, or blockchain analytics company; on-chain data work (indexers, decoders, analytics platforms); high-volume streaming pipelines in production.
You do not need years of crypto experience, a specific degree, or to check every box.
How we work
Temporal is small, technical, and fast-moving. Engineers own real systems, not tickets. High autonomy, high accountability, direct access to production, minimal process. We use AI tools daily and expect you to as well.
